Working Principle
The hot-melt butt welding process follows a standardized sequence, generally divided into five stages:
1. Preheating Stage: The pipe end face is brought into contact with the heating plate, and a preset pressure is applied to melt the end face evenly.
2. Heating Stage: The pressure is reduced, maintaining contact between the pipe end face and the heating plate to allow the material to fully absorb heat.
3. Plate Removal Stage: The heating plate is quickly removed without damaging the melted end face.
4. Switching Stage: The molten surfaces of both ends are quickly brought together, and the pressure is gradually increased to the welding pressure.
5. Cooling Stage: The welding pressure is maintained, allowing the joint to cool and solidify naturally under pressure.
Standard Welding Operation Flow
Fix two plastic pipes on clamps, trim both ends with electric facer until fully parallel
Remove trimmer, insert heating plate between pipe ends, apply set hydraulic pressure for specified heating time
Pull out heating plate rapidly, close pipe ends under constant hydraulic pressure for cooling & shaping
Release pressure after cooling countdown completes, inspect fusion bead and finish welding
