1. Details of welding surface treatment
Polishing degree: When polishing the surface of pipes and fittings with sandpaper or special tools, pay attention to uniform polishing to ensure that the surface oxide layer is completely removed to expose a clean and bright plastic matrix, but do not over-polish to cause the surface to be too rough or damage the wall thickness of pipes and fittings.
Thorough cleaning: After cleaning the surface, it is best to use a clean cloth dipped in a small amount of alcohol or acetone and other organic solvents to wipe the welding surface to further remove residual oil and impurities, and then wait for the solvent to evaporate and dry before welding.
2. Details of pipe insertion into fittings
Insertion depth mark: Before inserting the pipe, you can use a marker to mark the depth of insertion into the fitting on the pipe to ensure that the insertion depth is accurate, avoid inserting too shallowly to cause insufficient welding area, or inserting too deep to reduce the internal space of the fitting and affect the welding quality.
Prevent debris from entering: When inserting the pipe, be careful to prevent surrounding dust, debris, etc. from entering the welding interface between the pipe fittings and the pipe, and prevent impurities on the pipe surface from being brought in during the insertion process.
3. Welding parameter setting details
Ambient temperature compensation: If the welding ambient temperature deviates from the recommended temperature range of the pipe and fittings, the welding parameters need to be adjusted appropriately. Generally speaking, when the temperature is low, the welding time or current can be appropriately increased; when the temperature is high, the welding time or current can be appropriately reduced. The specific adjustment range can refer to the temperature correction coefficient table provided by the pipe and fitting manufacturer.
Multiple welding parameter adjustment: If multiple welding is required, and the specifications or environmental conditions of the pipes and fittings for each welding are different, the welding parameters should be reset in time, and the last parameters cannot be used to ensure that the quality of each welding can reach the best.
4. Welding process monitoring details
Observe the welding phenomenon: During the welding process, carefully observe the changes on the surface of the pipe fittings. Under normal circumstances, the surface of the pipe fittings will gradually heat up, soften, and the color will change slightly. If you find that the surface of the pipe is partially overheated, discolored, smoked or has an odor, etc., stop welding immediately, check the cause and take corresponding measures.
Listen to the sound of the welder: pay attention to the sound of the welder during welding. Under normal circumstances, the sound of the welder should be smooth and uniform. If you hear abnormal noise from the welder or the sound suddenly becomes louder or smaller, it may mean that the welder has a fault or the welding parameters are abnormal, which needs to be checked in time.
5. Details of the cooling stage
Natural cooling guarantee: During the cooling process, ensure that the welding part is not disturbed by external forces and maintain a natural cooling state. Do not use external force to squeeze or twist the welding part to avoid destroying the crystal structure and connection strength being formed at the welding point.
Cooling time control: Strictly cool according to the cooling time recommended by the pipe and pipe fitting manufacturers. Do not proceed to the next process or move the welded parts in advance in order to rush. Insufficient cooling time may lead to insufficient strength of the weld, which may easily cause leakage and other problems during subsequent use.
