How to extend the service life of vulnerable parts in PE butt welding machines

May 22, 2026

I. For High-Temperature Consumable Components (Heating Plate/Sensor)

1. Heating Plate Protection: After removing the heating plate, place it on a dedicated support. Do not place it on the ground or hard objects to avoid scratching the coating. After each welding operation, while the heating plate is still warm, wipe away any residue with a clean cotton cloth dampened with alcohol. Only use wooden tools to clean residual material; never use hard objects to scratch the coating.

2. Temperature Sensor Protection: Avoid dragging or pulling the sensor cable. Regularly check the tightness of the plug. Avoid bending or squeezing the cable. Calibrate the temperature once a year; avoid frequent disassembly and reassembly to prevent damage to the cable.

II. For Cutting Consumable Components (Milling Cutter Inserts)

1. Before each milling operation, clean the pipe end face of mud, sand, and gravel to prevent impurities from accelerating insert wear.

2. After milling, promptly retract the milling cutter. Do not leave the insert exposed to impact for extended periods. Once the insert becomes dull, flip it over and sharpen it promptly. Avoid forced milling to prevent further wear.

III. For Hydraulic Sealing Consumables (Seals/Quick Couplings)

1. During daily operation, avoid bending and dragging oil pipes. After plugging and unplugging quick couplings, promptly cover them with dust caps to prevent dirt and sand from entering the interface and scratching the sealing surface.

2. Regularly check the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil. Change the hydraulic oil every six months. Thoroughly clean the oil tank during oil change, as impurities will accelerate seal wear, and long-term dirty oil will cause premature aging of the seals.

3. Store in a cool, dry place to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and aging of the seals. When not in use, the hydraulic cylinder should be fully retracted to reduce long-term pressure deformation of the sealing rings.

IV. For Structural Friction Consumables (Pin/Sleeve/Belt)

1. Apply grease to the clamp pins and guide rails weekly to reduce dry friction wear and ensure smooth clamp opening and closing.

2. Regularly check the tension of the drive belt to avoid premature breakage due to excessive tension. When not in use, loosen the belt tension to reduce long-term tensile stress.

3. After operation, promptly clean dirt and impurities from the guide rails to prevent particle wear on the guide rails and sleeves.

V. General Protection Techniques

1. Transportation and Storage Protection: Secure the machine firmly during transportation to avoid bumps and deformation. When not in use, store it on a dry and flat surface to prevent long-term pressure deformation of the frame and to prevent electrical components from becoming damp and moldy.

2. Standardized Operation to Reduce Losses: Never use the equipment beyond its pipe diameter. Welding beyond specifications will overload all vulnerable parts, significantly shortening their lifespan.

3. Idle Storage Protection: When not in use for extended periods, clean the heating plate thoroughly and protect it from moisture. Apply rust-preventive oil to all moving parts and store in a well-ventilated and dry environment to prevent rust.
