1. Frequency of use
Frequent use accelerates loss
For electric fusion welding machines, the higher the frequency of use, the faster the loss rate of consumable parts. For example, frequent welding operations will cause the contacts of the relay to open and close continuously. Each opening and closing will generate an arc, which will cause wear on the contacts. As the number of uses increases, the wear gradually accumulates and eventually causes damage to the relay.
Similarly, frequent welding work means that the power cord and output line need to continuously transmit electrical energy. The thermal effect of the current will cause the wire to heat up, accelerate the aging of the wire sheath and the oxidation of the internal wire, thereby shortening its service life.
2. Working environment
Temperature effect
High temperature environment is more harmful to the consumable parts of electric fusion welding machines. At high temperatures, the heat dissipation of electrical components increases. For example, the electrolyte inside the capacitor may evaporate due to excessive temperature, resulting in a decrease in the capacitor capacity. In a high temperature environment, the oxidation rate of the relay contacts is accelerated, the contact resistance increases, and the wear of the contacts is further aggravated.
Low temperature environment can also affect the performance of consumable parts. For example, low temperature may change the performance of the liquid crystal material of the display screen, resulting in abnormal display. At the same time, low temperature can change the physical properties of some electrical components, such as the plastic shell becomes brittle and easily damaged when subjected to external force.
Humidity effect
High humidity environment can easily cause vulnerable parts to get damp. Humid air can cause the metal parts of plugs and sockets to rust and oxidize, increase contact resistance, and may also cause leakage. For capacitors, high humidity may cause leakage, which will reduce the performance of capacitors. In a high humidity environment, the circuit board inside the welding machine may also be damp and short-circuited, damaging electrical components.
Dust and corrosive substances
If dust in the working environment enters the inside of the electric fusion welding machine, it will accumulate on the electrical components. For relays, dust may hinder the normal closure of contacts, resulting in poor contact; for components such as heat sinks, dust will affect the heat dissipation effect, increase the temperature of electrical components, and accelerate the damage of components.
If there are corrosive substances in the working environment, such as using an electric fusion welding machine near a chemical site, acidic or alkaline gases may corrode vulnerable parts such as power cords, plugs and sockets, and circuit boards. For example, acidic gases may corrode the outer skin of metal wires and the pins of electrical components, shortening their service life.
3. Operating habits
Improper plugging and unplugging
When the operator plugs and unplugs the power cord and output line plug, if the operation is improper, such as excessive force or the wrong plugging and unplugging angle, it will cause mechanical damage to the plug and socket. Frequent improper plugging and unplugging will deform the plug pins and loosen the metal sheet of the socket, resulting in poor contact and increased contact resistance, thereby accelerating the loss of these components.
When connecting electric fusion pipe fittings, if the output line of the welding machine is excessively pulled or twisted, the output line will also be damaged, affecting its service life.
Improper welding operation
During the welding process, if the operation is not performed in accordance with the operating procedures, such as frequently starting and stopping welding, the workload of control components such as relays will be increased. Moreover, if the working welding machine is moved or collided during the welding process, it may cause problems such as loosening and desoldering of internal electrical components, affecting the normal use of wearing parts.
4. Power quality
Influence of voltage stability
Unstable input voltage has a significant impact on the wearing parts of electric fusion welding machines. If the input voltage is too high and exceeds the withstand voltage value of components such as rectifiers, it may cause the diode in the rectifier to be broken down. At the same time, excessive voltage will cause the capacitor to bear excessive voltage stress, accelerating the aging and damage of the capacitor.
When the voltage is too low, in order to ensure the output power, the internal circuit of the welding machine may increase the current, which will increase the current passing through the power cord, relays and other components, generate more heat, and thus accelerate the loss of these components.
Impact of power supply fluctuations and interference
Power supply fluctuations and interference, such as spike pulses in the power grid, may cause impacts on the electrical components inside the welding machine. For example, a momentary high voltage spike may damage sensitive components such as capacitors and diodes. At the same time, electromagnetic interference in the power supply may affect the normal operation of the control circuit, causing problems such as relay malfunction and increasing the loss of the relay.
