How to properly operate an electrofusion welding machine?

I. Pre-Operation Preparation
‌1. Equipment Inspection‌
Confirm that the power cord is not damaged. For 380V models, check the three-phase voltage balance (error ≤ 5%).
Test the output cable resistance (≤ 0.01Ω per meter) and the roughness of the electrode chuck contact surface (<1.6μm).
‌2. Pipe Preparation‌
Use a louver to polish the oxide layer on the pipe to a metallic luster. The socket depth should be marked to the inner wall stop.
Clean the pipe surface to ensure it is free of dirt and water stains (you can wipe with an alcohol wipe).
‌II. Parameter Settings
‌1. Mode Selection‌
Constant Voltage Mode: Applicable to pipes marked with "V" (e.g., 33V/50s).
Constant Current Mode: Applicable to pipes marked with "A" (e.g., 33A/120s).
‌2. Parameter Input‌
Manual Setting: Enter the voltage and time according to the pipe label (e.g., 40V/50s + 5min cooling).
Automatic Identification: Scan the pipe barcode to obtain parameters. Requires a scanner)
III. Welding Execution
1. Startup Procedure
After securing the pipe, tighten the output cable clockwise to ensure uniform pressure across the contact surface.
After starting welding, do not look directly into the observation hole. Monitor voltage fluctuations (±10% tolerance).
2. Process Monitoring
Fully automatic models display: resistance change, temperature compensation, and voltage adjustment in real time.
Abnormal Handling: Immediately shut off the power and check electrode condition or pipe compatibility.
IV. Post-Welding Process
1. Cooling Requirements
Natural cooling for ≥ 6 hours (extended if ambient temperature < 20°C).
Pressure Test: 0.8 MPa, hold pressure for ≥ 30 minutes.
2. Data Recording
Connect a printer to output welding parameters (check both sides of the printed paper).
V. Safety Regulations
Wear a protective mask during operation and maintain adequate ventilation.
380V equipment must be grounded (resistance ≤ 4Ω).
Overload operation is prohibited (load factor ≤ 80%).
