I. Daily Cleaning Procedure
1. External Dust Removal
Use a soft-bristle brush to clean the machine body and the gaps in the windshield to prevent dust from entering the internal optical system.
2. Cleaning Key Components
V-Groove: Use a cleaved fiber end face to scrape the groove three times in one direction. Use an alcohol swab to clean.
Objective Lens/Mirror: Use a cotton swab dipped in absolute alcohol to wipe in one direction. Avoid touching the electrode tip.
Electrode Rod: After every 200 splices, gently scrape the tip with a blade to remove oxides. Replace if bent or blunt.
II. Regular Maintenance
1. Discharge Calibration: Perform this once a month to adjust the arc intensity using the machine's built-in discharge calibration program. Abnormal discharge requires recalibration.
2. Motor Calibration: Replace the electrode every three months or afterwards, insert a standard optical fiber, and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the alignment.
3. Electrode Stabilization: This is performed every three months or after electrode maintenance. The program automatically optimizes electrode position.
III. Battery Care Tips:
1. NiMH batteries should be fully charged and discharged three to four times to activate performance. Avoid using them partially.
2. Keep the contacts clean and dry during storage. A dedicated storage bag can extend its lifespan by 30%.
IV. Troubleshooting:
1. Abnormal splice loss: Prioritize checking the V-groove cleanliness and electrode condition.
2. Motor stall: Immediately discontinue use and perform the motor reset procedure.
