How to Maintain a Socket Welding Machine?

Dec 17, 2025

1. Daily cleaning and inspection are fundamental. After each use, wipe the casing dry with a clean cloth to remove dust and ensure ventilation openings are clear. Check the power cord and welding torch cable for damage and ensure connections are secure to avoid short circuit risks. Also, observe the welding machine for abnormal noise, overheating, or unusual odors during operation; stop the machine immediately if any problems are found.

2. Key components require focused maintenance. Regularly check the contact tip for wear and blockage to ensure smooth wire feeding. Clean dust from the wire feed rollers and guide tip to prevent unstable wire feeding. Check the cooling fan for proper operation and ensure the heat sink is clean to guarantee good heat dissipation. For hydraulic or pneumatic components, check for leaks in the piping and ensure connections are tight.

3. Regular deep maintenance is essential. Every quarter or every 500 working hours, use compressed air to clean internal dust, especially from the transformer and reactor coils. Check and tighten all electrical connection terminals to prevent loosening and oxidation. Depending on usage, regularly replace lubricating oil, worn wire feed rollers, and contact nozzles, as well as other consumable parts.

4. Safety and Record Keeping are Essential. Always turn off the power before maintenance to ensure safety. Establish maintenance records, detailing the time, content, and problems found for each maintenance session to facilitate tracking of equipment status. For welding machines that have not been used for a long time, check the insulation resistance before use and, if necessary, dry them.
