1. Adjust the distance between the two jaws: When the adjustment screw is turned to make the joystick at the left limit, the distance between the jaws should be the difference between the total extension length of the two welds and the extrusion amount. When the joystick is at the right limit, the distance between the jaws should be the total extension length of the two welds plus 2~3mm, which is the original position before welding.
2. Adjust the short-circuit limit switch: so that it can automatically cut off the power supply when the welding is completed (reaching the predetermined extrusion amount).
3. According to the shape of the weldment, adjust the jaws and make the two jaws at the same level: then clamp the weldment.
4. Select the appropriate secondary voltage: To prevent instantaneous overheating of the weldment, increase the adjustment level gradually during the trial welding, and select the appropriate secondary voltage. When flash butt welding, it is advisable to use a higher secondary voltage.
5. Open the cooling water valve to pass water before welding: To avoid overheating of the components during welding, the cooling water valve must be opened to pass water before welding. For the convenience of inspection, a funnel is provided on the left front of the welding machine, through which the water flow can be directly observed, so as to check whether there is cooling water flowing inside the welding machine.
