How to judge whether the heating plate of the PE pipe welding machine is working properly?

1. Temperature display: If the welding machine has a temperature display function, you can observe whether the temperature of the heating plate can rise according to the set heating curve during the heating process. After reaching the set temperature, whether the temperature display value can remain stable and the fluctuation range is within a reasonable range (generally ±5℃). If the temperature rises too slowly or too quickly, or cannot reach the set temperature, and the temperature fluctuation is too large, it may indicate that there is a problem with the heating plate.
2. Appearance inspection: After the heating plate is heated, observe whether its surface color is uniform. Under normal circumstances, the surface temperature of the heating plate is uniform and the color should be basically consistent. If the local color is darker or lighter, it means that there may be local overheating or insufficient heating, indicating that the heating plate is not working properly. At the same time, check whether there are obvious signs of damage such as deformation, cracks, wear or corrosion on the surface of the heating plate. These problems may affect the heating effect and the quality of pipe welding.
3. Heating time: Based on experience and pipe specifications, judge whether the heating time is normal. If the heating time is significantly longer or shorter than before when welding pipes of the same specifications under the same environmental conditions, and there are problems with the welding quality, it may be that the performance of the heating plate has changed, resulting in a change in heating efficiency.
4. Welding effect: Observe the quality of the pipe after welding. If the heating plate works normally, the PE pipe interface after welding should show a uniform flange, the flange height and width meet the requirements, and the molten part of the pipe at the interface can be fully fused, without obvious gaps, bubbles or unfused areas. If there are defects in the interface after welding, such as local non-melting, uneven flange, etc., after excluding other factors, it may be caused by abnormal operation of the heating plate.
5. Professional detection tools: Use professional temperature detection tools, such as infrared thermometers, to measure the temperature at different positions on the surface of the heating plate after it reaches the set temperature, and check whether the actual temperature is consistent with the displayed temperature, as well as the uniformity of the temperature at each point. If the measurement result deviates greatly from the displayed temperature, or the temperature unevenness exceeds the allowable range, it means that the heating plate is working abnormally. In addition, you can also use tools such as a multimeter to check whether the heating wire of the heating plate is conductive, whether there is a short circuit or open circuit, to determine whether the electrical performance of the heating plate is normal.
