I. Examine the Appearance: First Impressions Determine Basic Quality

Shell Material: High-quality electrofusion welding machines use flame-retardant engineering plastics, with a smooth surface free of burrs, deformation, or scorching marks; inferior products often use recycled materials, which are prone to brittleness and discoloration.

Interface Workmanship: Electrode posts and power interfaces should be flat and secure, without looseness or oxidation, and the plating on the welding clamp contact surface should be uniform.

Marking Clarity: A legitimate product nameplate includes the model number, voltage, power, certification marks (such as CCC), production date, and manufacturer information; the printing should be clear and not easily rubbed off.

II. Test Performance: Heating Efficiency and Control Precision are Key

Heating Speed ​​Test: Under standard voltage, a high-quality welding machine can complete the set heating within 3-5 minutes, with a fast temperature response; an inferior machine heats slowly, taking more than 10 minutes to reach the set value.

Temperature Uniformity Check: After welding, touch both ends of the pipe fitting. High-quality equipment will have a consistent temperature distribution in the heating zone, with no localized overheating or cold spots. If a significant temperature difference is felt, it indicates a defect in the temperature control algorithm or heating circuit.

Automatic Compensation Capability: High-end models have power grid fluctuation compensation, maintaining stable output within a voltage fluctuation range of ±15%, ensuring welding consistency. Ordinary models are more susceptible to power supply fluctuations, leading to welding failures.

III. Safety Check: Electrical Safety is Paramount

Insulation Resistance Test: Use a megohmmeter to measure the insulation resistance between the input and the casing. It should be ≥1MΩ to prevent leakage risks.

Grounding Reliability: The grounding terminal must be securely connected, with a grounding resistance ≤0.1Ω to ensure operator safety.

Overload Protection Function: High-quality welding machines are equipped with triple protection against overcurrent, overvoltage, and short circuit. In case of abnormalities, automatic power-off alarm prevents equipment damage.

IV. Compliance Verification: Standard Certifications and Test Reports are Essential

Check Test Reports: Prioritize equipment that provides complete test reports. Test items should cover open-circuit voltage, load performance, temperature rise, insulation strength, etc.
