Generally speaking, hot-melt welding is to weld pipes with a hot-melt machine, which is fast and low-cost, and is suitable for pe water supply pipes and pe gas pipes. The electric fusion welding of the electric fusion welding machine, that is, the hot-melt connection of the polyethylene piping system, includes hot-melt butt joint and hot-melt socket connection.
The hot-melt socket connection is suitable for pipes and fittings with relatively small diameters, because the pipes and fittings with small diameters have thinner pipe walls and smaller cross-sections, and it is difficult to guarantee the quality by using butt joints. Hot-melt butt joints are suitable for pipes and fittings with relatively large diameters. They are less expensive than socket joints and easier to manufacture. Because the oxidized surface layer is cut off before welding, the welding pressure can be controlled and the quality is easier to guarantee. From the perspective of development trend, the use of hot-melt butt joint is the mainstream.
Tests have proved that pipes and fittings made of different grades of polyethylene pipe special materials can be hot-melt connected. However, because the domestically produced polyethylene pipes and fittings are often made of materials that do not fully meet the standards for special pipe materials, it is recommended to undergo testing and testing before hot-melt connection of polyethylene pipes and fittings of different brands and batch numbers.
