Does the working environment of the welding machine affect the sensor?

Jun 13, 2025

Influencing factors
1. Temperature:
High temperature environment: High temperature may cause the characteristics of the sensor's thermocouple or thermistor to decay, affecting the measurement accuracy.
Low temperature environment: Low temperature may slow down the sensor's response and even cause the electronic components inside the sensor to freeze.
2. Humidity:
High humidity environment: High humidity may cause condensation on the sensor surface, affecting heat conduction and reducing measurement accuracy.
3. Electromagnetic interference:
Electromagnetic radiation: Electromagnetic interference around the welding machine may affect the sensor's signal transmission, causing reading jumps or drifts.
4. Vibration:
Mechanical vibration: Vibration during welding may cause the sensor to loosen or shift in position, affecting the measurement results.
5. Dust and contaminants:
Dust accumulation: Dust and contaminants may cover the sensor surface, affecting heat conduction and causing measurement errors.
Countermeasures
1. Temperature control:
Environmental temperature: Control the working environment temperature of the welding machine between 15-30℃ to avoid excessively high or low temperatures.
Cooling system: Ensure that the cooling system of the welding machine works properly to prevent the sensor from overheating.
2. Humidity control:
Environmental humidity: Keep the relative humidity between 20%-60% to avoid excessively high or low humidity.
Moisture-proof measures: In high humidity environments, use moisture-proof agents or desiccants to prevent condensation on the sensor surface.
3. Electromagnetic shielding:
Shielding measures: Install electromagnetic shielding devices around the welding machine to reduce electromagnetic interference.
Signal line protection: Use shielded cables and ensure that the signal lines are away from strong electromagnetic sources.
4. Vibration reduction measures:
Vibration reduction device: Install a vibration reduction device between the welding machine and the sensor to reduce the impact of mechanical vibration on the sensor.
5. Cleaning and maintenance:
Regular cleaning: Clean dust and contaminants on the sensor surface regularly to ensure good heat conduction.
Protective cover: Install a protective cover for the sensor to prevent dust and contaminants from directly contacting the sensor.
