The working principle of electric fusion welding machine

Feb 19, 2024

Electrofusion welding machine is a common welding equipment. Its working principle mainly involves the electrothermal effect and the process of melting metal.
Electrofusion welders pass an electric current through welding materials (usually metals) to create high temperatures, causing them to melt and join together. It usually includes a power source, electrodes and welding materials.
When electric current flows through the welding material through the electrode, the resistance generates heat. This is due to the high resistivity of the welding material, which blocks the passage of current and generates heat. This process is called the electrocaloric effect.
The heat generated by an electrofusion welder can be controlled by adjusting the current, voltage and welding time. High current and voltage produce higher heat, while lower current and voltage produce lower heat.
Once the welding material reaches a high enough temperature, it melts and forms a molten pool. After the molten pool is formed, the welder can place the metal parts to be joined into the molten pool to fuse them with the welding material. When the molten pool has cooled, the welding is complete.
Different welding materials and welding methods may have different working principles and parameter settings. Electrofusion welding machine is a common welding equipment that is widely used in welding processes of various metals.
